Catalog

This article will give a brief explanation to users about the options available under the Catalog navigation menu item. Users will learn about:

  • Products
  • Attributes
  • Bill of Materials
  • Inventory Holds
  • Inventory Snapshots
  • Regulations
  • Lots/Expirations
  • Lot Types

Overview

The Catalog refers to the full product listing for each Merchant. Additionally there are configurable properties for products such as Attributes, Lot Types/Expirations, and Regulations. Products can also be associated with other products using the Bill of Materials feature, inventory can be set aside via Inventory Holds, and inventory reports can be generated with the Inventory Snapshots tool. To learn more about each topic, click the header.

Products

The product listing under Catalog > Products will allow users to view products by Merchant along with their image thumbnails if available.

Products are not combined with packaging features as of release 2019.7. These are located under Shipping > Packaging features.

From this view, it will be useful to view only products from a specific merchant using the Choose Merchant menu at the top left of the screen.

To further refine the product listing, users may need to filter by SKU. There are also Advanced Filter techniques you can use to capture the correct data.

Attributes

Users may need to customize the configurable attributes for a product such as flags used in Order Scripts. To add new attributes or edit them, navigate to **Catalog > Product Attributes.**Here you can select an existing product attribute to modify or create new ones.

By clicking on an item in the Attributes Grid, this will display the Attribute Properties such as Label, visibility, permissions, etc.

Bill of Materials

By navigating to Catalog > Bill of Materials, users can view a list of Bill or Materials (BOM) orders. By selecting a BOM from the list, this will display the BOM Configuration and a list of components.

Inventory Holds

Navigating to Catalog > Inventory Holds opens the centralized grid of every active Hold across the Warehouses you have access to — covering QC, cycle counts, recalls, expirations, damage, and any custom Hold Reasons your team has defined. From this page you can place a Hold, release one, audit historical Holds, and export hold data. See Inventory Holds for details.

Inventory Snapshots

If users need to capture the product listing and easily refer back to those snapshots, then navigating to Catalog > Inventory Snapshotswill allow them to save those lists and sort the snapshots by Warehouse, Merchant, Created At, or Created By information.

Lots/Expirations

To view a listing of those products which are perishable or can expire, navigate to Catalog > Inventory Snapshots. This allows users to quickly recognize products that are soon to expire by sorting the "Days Until Expiration" or "Expired" columns.

Lot Types

Users can view and create Lot Types under Catalog > Lot Types. By creating or clicking an item the properties of the Lot type can be configured such as defining a Lot Number Pattern, Regex patterns, Expiration Method, and Burn order method.

Regulations

ShipStream comes with preset regulations defined for you out of the box for Lithium Ion batteries, and paint, but it may be necessary to create your own to adhere to hazmat codes.
