Inventory & Stock
Inventory Overview
Inventory & Stock covers the stock you already hold: how much of it there is, where it sits, what is available to sell, and the records that account for it. Reach for this section when the question is "what do we have and can it be shipped?" — the flows that physically move stock are in Floor Operations, and the shelves themselves are in Warehouse Setup.
In the Admin UI these screens are split between the Catalog and Operations menus. In the Client Portal they are gathered under the top-level Stock menu.
Stock at rest
- Inventory Snapshots - point-in-time exports of every Product's quantities in a Warehouse, taken on demand or on a schedule.
- Inventory Holds - freeze a Location so ShipStream will not allocate, pick, pack or manifest what is on it.
- Lots/Expirations Tracking - Lot Numbers, expiration and origination dates, Lot Types, and FIFO or FEFO burn order.
- Serial Number Tracking - capture serial numbers against individual units and look up where each one went.
Counting and records
- Cycle Count and Inventory Adjustments - count what is physically in a Location and reconcile ShipStream's records against it, without pausing warehouse operations.
- Stock Movement Log - the record of every physical movement of stock, showing what moved, where, and when.
Planning and reporting
- Product Velocity - how fast each Product moves, and the Product Tiers built from that measurement.
- Replenishment Report - the SKUs whose pick faces are at risk of running dry, ranked by days of coverage.
Related setup and flows
- Replenishment Policies - the coverage targets the Replenishment Report measures against.
- Product Profiles and Handling Classes - the Product classifications that decide where stock is allowed to be stored.
- Put-Aways and Relocations - the floor flows that move stock into and between Locations.
